About Sona

Yoga = Transformation

IF IT DOESN’T CHANGE YOU, IT’S NOT YOGA…

I have seen it reshape my life and my calling is to help you transform yours.

When I discovered yoga in 1994 in Mumbai, where I grew up, I was thrilled to resonate and connect with something from my Indian roots after a lifetime of Anglo-Christian schooling. I loved its physical, mental and spiritual benefits - it was a welcome change to my flighty, on-the-go, vata personality. Always focused on outward goals and achievements, through yoga for the first time I was able to go within. I found centering and grounding, strength, grace and growth. I have been practicing it daily ever since.

What began as my teacher training simply to deepen my own practice, gave way to discovering my dharma; I am deeply grateful to be able to share the gifts of yoga every day.

After I left India, I lived in Vancouver, Munich and now San Francisco. I raised a family, switched gears and careers. Through all these moves, stages and adventures, the one constant in my life has been my yoga practice. It has grown and changed as I have. I try to consciously live all aspects of my life through the lens of its teachings and its philosophy. And I am passionate about helping you embody its wisdom in your life.
